THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE EUROPEAN CONSORTIUM FOR POLITICAL RESEARCH
The European Consortium for Political research will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2010.
To commemorate and celebrate the achievements that have taken place - not only within the ECPR,
but in the political science profession as a whole - several events and publications are being planned.
These will include:
A specially commissioned history of the ECPR by Ken Newton and Thibaud Boncourt that
will cover not only the past 40 years, but also the pre-birth period and the efforts of the
'founding fathers' to establish the Consortium.
An extra 'ruby red' issue of European Political Science (EPS) that will look back and
reflect on the development of the discipline.
A round table during the Münster Joint Sessions on the history of political science over the last 40 years.
Specially designed silk ties and scarves, which can be bought from the ECPR Central Services.
A special reception during the Joint Sessions.
A round table during the ECPR Summer School in Methods and Techniques that will examine and
reflect on the changes in social science methodology over the past 40 years.
