The ECPR Graduate Conference is held in alternate years to the General Conference. The first Graduate Conference
was held at the University of Essex in 2006. Further conferences are at the following venues:
1. Jacobs University, Bremen 2012
2. Dublin City University 2010
3. Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona 2008
The academic programme takes the standard conference format of sections, which have within them between 4 and 10 panels.
These sections are organized around a common theme and major research questions.
Sections are not workshops. Rather, they provide the opportunity to present recent research to a larger
audience and to expose it to the criticism, suggestions, and support of peers. The purpose of the conference
is to further scientific discussion and research across all national scientific communities and across all
areas of political science.
In addition to sections and panels, there are round tables, symposia, a plenary lecture and an interesting social programme.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduate students to come together from all over Europe to share their work and
experience by presenting papers or by simply observing.
