Abstract
In the last 10-15 years, the number of floating voters has steadily increased. Some of the voters have already changed their minds before high-noon of the election campaign. Others switch during the campaign. Where do voters move to in the mid-term period? It is well-known that mid-term is a hard time for parties in at least two respects: a) party-liking in particular for government regularly is very low; b) the number of undecided in the “Sunday” question is rather high. Where do the latter come from? Is this only a matter of de-mobilization or preparing ground for floating voters? The paper addresses these questions with a mini-panel for the pre-post-election period 2005, and with a midterm panel of a post-election and midterm.
